Google Small Business Assistance by Jan Smith

We are all so used to just answering a question that we don't know the answer to simply by saying "Google it". Small businesses need to know that this is more than just a throw-away answer to a question we can't answer.
Google has so much assistance for small business in their help files that the problem is daunting to many people simply because they don't have the time to sort and sift through all the stuff that they do need to know and is in there for them to find and learn.
If a small business owner does make the time to read through it they often end the session with their eyeballs rolling; and feeling 'punch drunk' with information overload. This happens to most people and all I can suggest is that you "eat the Elephant" in small bites rather than trying to absorb it all at once. That way, it is much easier to digest and better yet, to apply as you learn.
There isn't much point in absorbing all the information available if you are too busy learning and never apply the information that you have learnt. One of the biggest drawbacks to the Internet is that one's learning never ends. Learning how Google assists small business with all the different applications and continually updated information is a never-ending quest.
Once you accept the fact that you will never know it all, nor do you have to, to apply that which you have learnt and understand, frees you up to practice that which you have leant.
Practise makes perfect. Theory is all very well and one needs to know it ,but if you don't apply the knowledge in a practical way, you will never know for sure that you do understand it all properly or learn where you need to go for the next lot of information to enhance what you have just done. It seems that learning leads to more learning until you yourself say "enough is enough" because you have done what you initially started out to learn. That is always the sign of a well learnt lesson.
Google is not going anywhere in a hurry (except further up the search engine scales) so will no doubt have another cache of stuff the next time you want to know more information about something. Just remember that all Elephants are big but you can eat it all if you can give yourself more time to digest it.
