3 Ways to Make More Money From Your Home Based Affiliate Marketing Internet Business   by Fernando Morales

in Business / Productivity    (submitted 2010-03-05)

If your home based affiliate marketing internet business is not producing the level of expected income you desire, there could be a perfectly logical explanation for this. On the other hand if your internet business is producing a respectable level of income, it is quite possible that you might still be leaving money on the table. How so? This article will talk about a critical element in online marketing that is sorely overlooked and 3 ways you can take advantage of this critical and vital element.

It's a fact that if you don't advertise your business, no one is going to see it. This is true whether you're marketing on or offline, however merely setting up an advertising campaign and going through the motions everyday is not the end of the story.

The critical element that is sorely overlooked amongst many online entrepreneurs is keeping track of the effectiveness of their advertising campaigns.

Without tracking, it is a hit or miss affair at best as to whether or not your advertising is effective or not. In addition to gauging the effectiveness of your advertising it is nearly impossible to tell where you need to increase or decrease your activity if you are using multiple sources of traffic.

With this in mind, let's briefly explore 3 ways you can make more money from your home based affiliate marketing internet business:

1. Surveys. Surveys allow you to interact with your website visitors, subscribers and customers. You can conduct simple one or two question surveys to determine what you're clients interests are and target your marketing to an even greater degree of profitability and effectiveness.

Surveys in effect give your customers, subscribers and prospects what they want you to sell them and one of the most important questions you can ask is: " how did you hear about us?" This will tell you exactly which traffic sources are the most effective for you, but there are others way you can find this which leads us to...

2. Tracking links. There is a variety of ad tracking software available online that can help you to track the effectiveness of the various traffic sources you may be using to attract visitors to your site. With these types of software you are able to install a tracking script onto your server allowing you to add simple codes to the links that you place on various websites.

With ad tracking software you can gather information like: where you're visitors are coming from, how often your links are being clicked and on what days and times your links are being visited and that's just for starters.

However there is one more way that you can track the effectiveness of your advertising and this resource is available to just about anyone who has a hosting account.

3. Website Traffic Stats or Awstats. Most web hosts provide traffic stats that give you a detailed breakdown as to what pages on your site visitors are frequenting the most and what keywords they are using to find your site.

There is a ton of other information you'll find within your traffic stats as well, but just by knowing what pages your visitors are frequenting the most as well as the keywords being used to find those pages can give you some real ammunition for ramping up the effectiveness of your advertising campaigns for greater monetary gains.
