Eating Too Much Will Kill You - If You're Overweight, Please Read This by Feri W.
I watched the movie the other day that was about a kidnapping. At the end of that movie, one of the actor's remarks was that half the world is dying of starvation while the other half is dying from obesity.
The movie was fiction, but the actor's comment was 100% true. And if you own the technology to read these words from off the Internet, the chances are pretty high that you're amongst the privileged ones -- as I am -- those who are surrounded by more food than we know what to do with safely.
I like my food, I enjoy eating, and therein lies the danger of eating too much. We all know you can die from malnutrition is you don't have enough food to eat, but how many of us stop to consider that too much food leads to obesity and obesity leads to an early death.
When we were kids, many of us were told by our mothers to eat up all our food and think of the starving babies in Biafra -- or some other third world country that was suffering a famine at that time.
Some of us developed the habit of eating everything on our plate, even if we had eaten enough long before we cleaned up the plate to please our parents.
That is just one of the reasons that some people overeat and become obese. It is also common for people to eat too much because of comfort eating. It's like we feel sad, so we eat. We feel lonely, so we eat. We feel angry at the world so we eat... and after a while we don't go out anymore because we are too tired, too lazy or just embarrassed about our size and shape.
And when that happens, we isolate. we stay at home and food becomes our only comfort.
This will kill you, guys and girls. is a vicious circle that is an illness and death. Premature death.
So if you find your elf isolated, staying at home all the time and comforting yourself with food, then I urge you to seek help before it is too late. You may feel alone in the world at the moment, but I can assure you there are good people out there who understand, who know what you're going through and who are willing to help.
Many of them once thought as you do now, but they found a way out the works.
You might care to read a book on the subject by a lady called Kay Sheppard. It's called, Food Addiction: The Body Knows. You can order it from Amazon.com or any good bookseller.
Organizations which can help you include Weight Watchers, Overeaters Anonymous, Food Addicts Anonymous and CEA-HOW. There are others too. Do a web search now and you can find out about them. They will welcome you. They won't be judgemental, and you will feel at home in their midst.
And if you know somebody else who may have this problem of eating too much, please show them a copy of this article. You could save their life.
